Parenting Support
Virtual parenting support for parents of children, teens and adult children in Toronto and across Ontario.
Parenting can bring love and connection alongside worry, frustration and uncertainty. Whether you are trying to understand your child’s struggles or feeling unsure about your own responses, it can help to have space to reflect and feel supported.
My goal is to support you so you feel better able to support your child. Together, we build awareness of your own emotions and responses, confidence in your parenting abilities and trust in the wisdom you bring to your family.
Your child does not need to attend. Much of my work takes place with parents on their own.
You may find yourself questioning how to respond to your child’s anxiety, anger or sadness, feeling caught in recurring conflict, or struggling to set boundaries without losing connection. You might notice yourself reacting more strongly than you intended, or holding back out of fear of making things worse.
These experiences can arise at any stage of parenting. As children become adults, questions about how to help, when to step back and how to care for your own needs can bring new challenges.
You can love your child deeply and still find parenting difficult. There is room here to speak openly about that, without judgment or blame.
When Parenting Feels Hard
I am a certified Emotion-Focused Therapist and a supervisor in Emotion-Focused Therapy for Families, with over 15 years of experience supporting children, teens and families.
Using an emotion-focused approach makes room for both your child’s experience and your own. Together, we can explore the emotions underneath difficult interactions and understand what gets stirred up in you when your child struggles.
Building parental self-awareness is an important part of this work. We can explore how your emotions, beliefs and past experiences influence your responses, including moments when worry, frustration or self-doubt make it harder to respond as you would like.
We also work toward helping you feel more confident and capable as a parent. This means feeling more able to understand your child’s needs, respond to their emotions, hold boundaries and navigate challenges, even when there is no clear or easy answer.
You bring a depth of knowledge about your child and your family. My role is to work alongside you, helping you access your parenting wisdom and find responses that fit your values, your relationship and the realities of your life.
How Parenting Support Can Help
Who I Work With
I work with parents of children, teens and adult children. You may be seeking support around anxiety, big emotions, behaviour, relationship difficulties or your own feelings of overwhelm and self-doubt.
Parents can attend individually or with a co-parent.
For parents of adult children, we can explore how to offer support while respecting their independence, navigating changing expectations and maintaining boundaries that feel sustainable for you.
I provide virtual parenting support in Toronto and across Ontario.
